The Bromine crew is expanding.

Posted by Bromine on Mar 9, 2009 3:17:06 PM

Bromine aims to be the selenium open source test management software of choice.

We’re currently refactoring the entire codebase into the object oriented MVC php framework cakePHP (cakephp.org). Not only is this a radical improvement, it grants some unique possibilities to rethink and influence the project.

What do we want Bromine to do? How do we get there?

In this context the Bromine team is looking to expand. Currently we are 4 committers, 3 Danes and a single brave American, but our visions far exceed our resources, which is where you come in.

You are a person capable of making your ideas come through in web based development. Ajax, css and php are familiar concepts to you.

You’ll be using it in a couple of years. Come help shape it. Drop a mail at bromine(at)bergpalm(dot)dk if you’re interested .

Cheers,

Rasmus and Visti

Hi, I'm the single brave american. ^_^

Just an aside, we're all still in the learning stages of cake a little bit, (at least I am) so if you don't know the framework, but are marginally familiar with MVC, feel free to email too. I can also coordinate on the american side as well, in case you're worried about time difference.

This Swede signing on. Have used CakePHP before. Happy to see Bromine take the plunge into a standardized framework.

I'm anxious to get us started with Migrations (numbered database scripts in PHP, that you run in sequence to build the structure of your database). Would simplify and centralize things. Also: it grants you RDBMS independence.

i am not a developer but as a test engineer i can help you out if you guys need any kind of testing you can tell me to ..i will be pleased to help you

by the way i think improve the complexity level of adding a project to adding a test suite can be much more simplified. or you can just give a startup screen to give instruction and steps to add a project and to finish adding and running a test suite.
